The First Response Pool Lifeguard course is nationally accredited and competency based, participants receive a nationally recognized award on successful completion. The Pool Lifeguard Course has been developed to train and qualify candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to supervise swimming pool users.

  • Aquatic emergency care skills
  • Lifeguard skills and procedures
  • Recognition and intervention skills
  • Understanding of the role of the lifeguard
  • Public education and public relations skills
  • The ability to work in a lifeguard team
  • Spinal management - use of cervical collars and spinal boards

Pre-requisite: Pool Bronze & Senior First Aid 

Minimum age: 16 years

Duration: Nominal 16 hours

Your course fees includes: Instruction, hire of manikins, course notes, nationally recognized qualification and Pool Lifeguard manual. (Full course participants only receive manual)

What to bring?

  • Swimmers, towel, sunscreen and hat
  • Goggles
  • Notepad and pen
