Laidley - Currently Closed

The Laidley pool reopening has been temporarily delayed - please refer to the following statement from Council.

Laidley Pool reopening temporarily delayed

During recent upgrade and maintenance works carried out at the Dal Ryan Memorial Pool, an issue that could impact the safety of users was uncovered.
As a result, Council has immediately moved to rectify the matter, and this will unfortunately lead to a delay in reopening the pool. Council takes these matters extremely seriously and will not compromise safety.
Lockyer Valley Facilities Portfolio Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jason Cook said it was vital these works were carried out now.
“Council has contractors working on the issue and will complete the repairs as quickly as possible as we know the pool is a much-loved community facility for Laidley.
“A lot of families have great memories from days at the pool, swimming club events, school swimming carnivals and Council’s dive-in movie nights.
“Thanks to funding from the Palaszczuk Government’s Unite and Recover Community Stimulus Program Council has also been able to progress with upgrades to the facility, including the replacement of the old diving blocks,” Cr Cook said.
Council expects the pool to be open for community use by early October and urged those eager for a swim to be patient for only a little longer.
The Laidley Pool Upgrade is an initiative of the Queensland Government.
