History
The Nambour Amateur Swimming Club operates from the Nambour Aquatic Centre at Petrie Park Road Nambour and was established to give local swimmers a platform to swim competitively. The general motto of the Club is - “To provide swimmers the framework, support and encouragement to reach their goals.” The Club has a proud history over a long period, having nurtured many State and National representatives.
Club Nights
Club nights are held on Tuesday nights during the summer months, usually from September to March. They commence at approx. 6.00 p.m. through to approx 7.30 p.m. Each week, swimmers have a 25 metre or 50 metre race in each discipline, followed by a special race, which may be a relay or longer race.
Any registered swimmers who wish, can also swim at other regional carnivals and subject to qualifying times swim at State and National titles.
At the end of each season Club championships are held in each age group. Trophies are supplied for Club champions as well as points trophies (weekly points are awarded for each club night) and several perpetual trophies. The trophy presentation might is provided free for financial swimmers and invited guests.
