Colin Robson: Head Coach |
Colin is a highly respected coach who has a vast knowledge of swimming and has coached many athletes to State, National and World level in still water, surf and triathlon swimming and also athletes who have made Australian teams. He has had a successful swimming career himself and trained under ex Australian & Canadian Head Coach Don Talbot, where he placed 2nd in 1971 & 3rd in 1972 in the 1500 freestyle at the Australian Open Championships. He was mentored at the commencement of his coaching career by ex Olympic medallist & Australian Olympic swim coach Brian Wilkinson and was Coaching Coordinator at the Sutherland Leisure Centre during Ian Thorpe's preparation for the Sydney Olympics. Colin has coached Paul Ambrose to 5th place in the 2010 Australian Iron Man Championships and Michael Prince to a silver medal at the 2010 World Long Course Triathlon Championships. In 2007 to 2009 he coached both Craig Alexander & Chris McCormack to titles in the Hawaiian Iron Man Championships. He has also coached a number of junior swimmers to success at the Metropolitan titles (2009) as well as to State age titles. Colin likes to keep at the forefront of current swim coaching techniques and regularly attends training sessions and conferences to ensure that his programs are fresh and interesting. |

As Head Coach Colin is responsible for the direction of our squads at Cotton Tree and oversees and coaches all the squads beginning with the Mini's all the way through to our Master’s. He will be working closely with assistant coach Janice McCallum and the rest of the Swim Fit coaching team. |
