Cotton Tree Kids Squads

Mini Squad - coached by Janice McCallum
Has been designed as an introduction for young swimmers to squad training. Swimmers at this level will learn lane etiquette, the rules of racing and race skills, how to read the pace clock and working from the program board. Improving technique takes precedence over distance and each session is designed at developing their technique through small aerobic and drill sets.
 
Junior Squad  - coached by James Critoph
Is a technique based squad where swimmers are trained through aerobically based sessions and skill and drill sets. These aerobic sets will have minimal stress which enables the swimmer to develop the foundations and rules of their technique whilst still improving their fitness levels. Race skills are improved through the education of racing and to help the swimmer compete.
 
Intermediate Squad - coached by James Critoph
Is a technique based squad where swimmers will be trained through difficult aerobically based sessions and skill and drill sets. The aerobic sets are designed to develop the swimmers stroke under the stress of fatigue allowing the swimmer to instill the foundations and rules of their technique for racing under pressure. Race skills are improved through the education of racing and to help the swimmer compete. Swimmers will also be taught how to train through anaerobic sessions designed for racing.
 
Senior Squad -  coached by James Critoph
Is a seasonally designed program for the athlete where sessions will be systemically  designed inline with the athlete’s goal in mind. The Senior program has been developed to incorporate two areas, sprint and distance. All athletes will participate in dry-land training sessions designed to improve their swimming. The Sprint program is power based training and also has a high skill component. The Distance program is efficiency based where athletes will be trained aerobically for the event they require.

Squad Fees:
All squad bookings at Cotton Tree are perpetual; meaning that once you make your booking it will automatically continue until the booking is either changed, suspended or terminated.
 
All sessions are costed individually per week with payment due a) on fortnightly basis payable via direct debit or b) via cash upfront for the month.
 
Please note: We do not hold squad on public holidays therefore you will not be charged if your squad session falls on a public holiday.

Please note the following Swim Fit Policy:

  • Suspensions: Your squad booking may be suspended if the swimmer is going to be absent for a minimum period of 1 week and a maximum period of 5 weeks per suspension. You are required to complete a suspension request form addressed to the Complex Manager prior to the swimmer being absent. Suspensions cannot be back dated. A total of 10 weeks suspension in a 12 month period per calendar year is allowed.
  • Make up’s: To be entitled to makeup sessions you must notify us at least 6 hours prior to session time. We allow a maximum of 2 makeup sessions per swimmer per month without a medical certificate. Make up’s may not be carried over to the next month. If you do not turn up for a booked makeup session you will not be entitled to another one. Please reschedule your sessions if the swimmer has a contagious disease. Examples of these are Influenza, Chicken Pox, and Measles etc. If the swimmer has been ill with diarrhoea within the past 2 weeks please do not utilise the swimming pool.
  • Refunds: Swim Fit does not refund except for exceptional circumstances, the request for a refund must be placed in writing to the Complex Manager.
  • Free Entry: All squad members are entitled to free entry to the pool during the life of their active membership (excluding events).
